I've never bought a car from a dealership before. For a 2003 Ford Focus, Mach special, moon roof, automatic transmission, and only 40,000 miles they want $7900.00. That's the Bluebooks suggested.. What would you pay? AND! What exactly is a bank finance charge and how much does that run?|||To determine if the price is reasonable do your research with the online price guides.
NADA
KBB
Edmunds
MSNAuto
Yahoo Autos
Consumer Guide Automotive
There are a lot of them out there.
I don't know what this car is worth but I can offer this advice. NEVER pay Blue Book for a car. Always negotiate the price lower than the book value. Blue Book Value is the maximum price. You don't ever want to pay maximum price, you want the car at the lowest possible price, not the highest.
Bank Finance charges are the interest you pay on the loan.|||If you want facts, I've got them.
Number one, the value of a car is not determined by any guide book. The car's value is determined by the buyer. Just today, I took my sister 93 miles to a used car dealer and let her pay over Kelly Blue Book Retail for a car. AND, I am a car dealer with over two decades experience. AND, she got a really good buy. I've seen lots of cars that were no where near the value of the car she bought that sold for way more. I did not have any car in inventory that represented as good a value. I know the selling dealer made a profit, but that's what retail is all about. We negotiated DOWN to Kelly retail!
The car was exceptional, and the value was good in today's market. Edmunds, Kelly, and all those other guys are PUBLISHERS. They make their living convincing the public that they know what they are doing. They don't know sh*t!
The "Blue Book Suggested" is no more than that. LOOK at the car. Have a mechanic inspect it. Put some effort in to your decision. You won't find any person in Yahoo Answers who will drive the car and inspect it. It's been USED. Determine if that use was benign or abusive or neglectful. Take some responsibility for your decision. Pay Kelly retail ONLY if the car is PERFECT. If it is an ordinary car, pay way less.|||That's very high, but if it's an SVT model, that may be right.
I agree with Dave Ramsey. Don't borrow money for a car; live within your means.
Also, Blue book is usually high in my view. Compare it to KBB and NADA. You be the judge.|||I think Edmunds gives you the true value of the car. So if you buy a car at that price, it's worth it.|||Determine wholesale value and negotiate from there. Don't EVER finance a car, always pay cash.
Pay cash or do not buy.

In Massachusetts do you have to pay for excise tax on a leased car? and is there a tax break on luxury cars?
How is the excise amount determined, I understand it is $25 per $1000, but is based on the bluebook value of the car or on how much you owe?|||It is determined on blue book value of the vehicle. If you wholly own your car you still have to pay excise tax. After all, just because you finished paying for it does not mean that it no longer uses town roads.
I doubt there is a tax break on luxury cars. It is like property taxes on a house. You are assessed according to the value. To give you a break constitues an unfair practice under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

How Much Can I Sell This For ?
I own a 1999 Ford Escort with 150,000 miles. I just put a brand new engine in it worth $3,000. The Car is in absolute perfect condition now that i fixed the engine problem. The BlueBook value is around $3,400 could I get any more with the new engine?|||Very unlikely as it is high mileage and most that age will have had things replaced.
If you had a 159K engine it woudl not be worth the book price, but a lot less. those values are for good condition examples, which yours might be.
It is old and that is the real thing. Why woudl anyone pay much for that when they can get something newer and younger (fewer miles) for the same money. Might have been a questionable moe to put in the new engine. Ask Click and Clack on Car talk,|||If you have a new engine, then there wouldn't be any miles, other than the fact
that the original vehicle miles were 150,000 before you replaced the engine.
Is that correct? In which case you might do better in the bluebook value.
You might get some more $ based on whether it's a rebuilt/reconditioned engine
or as you stated, brand new.

Norinco EM-321 ".22 Pump Rifle" Parts Q? and Bluebook?
Hello,
I've seen this 321 on the Exempt clause in the old ban cause its a "Norinco". What is the Bluebook Value as I can't seem to find a Local Store that Has the Bluebook for that Style rifle? Has anyone seen any Parts Wanted or For Sale for the EM-321? [Ive looked for almost a Year and havent seen this Gun on any online auctions] The reason why Im curious about this one is the few I did see, the Customer(s) seemed Desperate for the Parts %26amp; They seem to be a Rarity + Expensive as Hell.
Thanks! ANY other Gun or Weapon I havent 1 problem, why this one, No Idea !
[[Norinco .22Lr Pump Rifle 10rd]]|||Not worth more than 50-100.00.
For parts Numrich. D|||What are you talking about when you say an "Exampt Clause" on the "Old Ban"? Pump rifles of any kind have never been banned in the USA. It's a Norinco, so it ain't worth much.|||In Blue Book of Values, 29 edition, under Norinco - rifles .22, the Model EM-321 rifle listed value at 100 % $135. I find this rifle to be well worth more than listed as gun values have made a considerable jump this past year. Also rifle is identical to the Browning patent trombone, made in Germany and is very much built as well. I feel as a collector this gun will increase in value along with its rarity. Was imported by China Sports Inc, located in Ontario, Ca in early 90's. Check their for parts or look for trombone parts. Roadee

How much should I pay for a 1997 Toyota Corolla?
They are asking for 2200 which seems reasonable because the inspection showed that the only thing wrongith it is the headlight adjustment.but it has 201000 something miles on it.My question is..
How much longer can i predict this car to run for?
and how much should i pay for it?
(bluebook price is 2095)|||The Blue book value is always a generalization. Value of any vehicle is subjective.
And any owner may ask and get whatever they wish for a vehicle.
Case in point:
The Blue book value on my 1986 Corolla is very low, but it has barely turned over 100,000 miles. It is a bit rusty around the fenders, but overall is the most dependable car I've ever owned. (I'm the third owner, my father was the second, and he took it to be serviced for the first owner.)
My car is never going to look new again, but she sure has alot of poop for and old girl.
I certainly hope to keep her for another 5 years, but I don't think that we'll ever see 200,00 miles.
It would be nice though!|||pay what you want to pay really first check it out by typing how to check a used car follow that list of thing s to look for when buying a used car and most of time you wil not get a lemon as for miles depends on shape its in thus the reason why you check it but most cars you can drive into the 400,000 range it they are cared for right way why you need to check for problem before buying any used car and decide and no one pays blue book price so id say about 1800 a good starting price|||Two yrs ago I bought a 1995 Toyota Corolla for around the same price. Toyota's are great, reliable cars that last a long time as long as you take care of it. Mine has 204,000 miles on it, and my moms (also a '95) has well over 220,000. I would try and negotiate to 2000, because of the miles it already has. I'm far from a mechanic, but mine has been reliable. Toyotas do seem to have issues with wheel bearings needing replaced, but it isn't expensive to fix (about 150), which is something I would ask them about if they'd had to replace. Hope I helped!|||That toyota will last for another 2 to 3 years but just make sure you do regular maintenance and before you buy take it to a trusted mechanic so he can check it over
Good luck.|||The miles are too high. Kelly Blue Books says $1,200 retail. I would not buy it. It is about to go. Even if it has not been driven hard, a car with that many miles will start giving you one problem after another very soon.

What amount should I ask for auto accident damage?
Not-at-fault accident where at fault guy agrees to pay damages out of pocket.
I have a 1995 Olds Cutlass Ciera; The bluebook value is approx. $1700. The car is still driveable, but does have sustainable visible damage.
How much should I ask?
Note: a side body repair guy would charge $1000 to fix, though he does not use paperwork. A genuine body shop will charge over $3000 meaning that my car will be totaled out if gone through insurance.|||take the 1700 and get away/use on downpayment for something with the car|||1700
