I own a 1999 Ford Escort with 150,000 miles. I just put a brand new engine in it worth $3,000. The Car is in absolute perfect condition now that i fixed the engine problem. The BlueBook value is around $3,400 could I get any more with the new engine?|||Very unlikely as it is high mileage and most that age will have had things replaced.
If you had a 159K engine it woudl not be worth the book price, but a lot less. those values are for good condition examples, which yours might be.
It is old and that is the real thing. Why woudl anyone pay much for that when they can get something newer and younger (fewer miles) for the same money. Is that correct? In which case you might do better in the bluebook value.
You might get some more $ based on whether it's a rebuilt/reconditioned engine
or as you stated, brand new.
