Why does NADA and Bluebook give different values?

NADA guides and Kelley Bluebook give different values for the same vehicle. Why is that?

Examples: 2001 YZ125; NADA: $865-1135, Kelley: $1385

2001 CR125; NADA: $780-1025, Kelley: $1410

Almost a $400 difference with the Honda! What's up with that?|||Market value for motorcycles (or cars for that matter) is not an exact science. There is no way to draw a line in the sand and say every yzf125 is worth exactly $1234.07. It is an estimation that indicates approximately what one can expect to pay based on what those bikes are typically sold for. Another thing to keep in mind is that location will have an effect on actual value as well. To really get a good idea of what a reasonable price is on a bike, I would recommend contacting 3-5 local dealerships and ask them what they would likely ask for that particular bike. Using those numbers you can make your own estimate of fair market value.
